The company “GasTeh” from Inđija has signed a contract to participate in the “Gasification of Republika Srpska” project, which includes the construction of a main gas pipeline from Šepak to Novi Grad. The pipeline will be approximately 500 km long, with a project value exceeding one billion KM (approximately 500 million euros). The project is being implemented in three phases, with the ultimate goal of extending the pipeline all the way to Novi Grad, and the construction is accompanied by the following key activities:
- Financing and implementers: The project is fully financed by the Government of Republika Srpska from its budget, and the contract was awarded to the enterprise “Sarajevo-gas” from East Sarajevo and the company “Konvar” from Belgrade.
- Route and construction deadline: The pipeline connects the gas system near Šepak with Bijeljina, Brčko, Banja Luka, and Novi Grad, and the works are being carried out in stages. The deadline for the completion of the entire project is four years, while the arrival of the pipeline to Banja Luka is expected in a much shorter period.
- Secondary network: Coordination meetings between the Government and contractors are ongoing. Local communities (a total of 18 municipalities along the route) are required to urgently initiate activities on the construction of a secondary network for gas distribution to households and industrial zones.
- Role of “GasTeh”: The company “GasTeh” will be engaged in the construction of above-ground positions and will thus be a part of this major project.
